Off the plateau
So I find that scales in general are evil.
You are up two pounds *sad panda face*
You are down two pounds *happy omfg let’s party face*
I’ve been doing this tango with my scale since late July. At the end of summer down to like 141 *happy omfg let’s party face* which made me feel good. I had gone from my all time high of 168, down to 140 over a summer time.
Then I went on vacation with my family *scale creepin*
And then I moved back up to my college *scale creepin more*
Then somehow…I was back at 145 *sad panda face*
So, since that dark day in August, I have been going back in forth on my scale. 143, 140, 139, 142….I know people say the scale doesn’t matter, its the change in your body. I get that and yes I was greeted with compliments from classmates I had not seen in a while. But really, I was just down right frustrated. I had reached what is called a “plateau” where your body is like “Dude, you have been exercising and dieting allllll summer. I am not impressed, try something new.”
Which is hard, school is demanding, I munch more because many of my activities involve: sitting and tutoring, sitting and writing papers, sitting and reading textbooks, sitting and studying notecards, sitting in meetings for clubs, sitting in class…the list could go on…
VERSUS: Summertime: RUSH RUSH INTERNSHIP WERE YOU STAND ALOT, RUSH RUSH SEE YOUR FRIENDS IN LIMITED SPARE TIME, RUSH RUSH WEIGHT TABLES FOR MONEY RUSH RUSH, GO TO BEACH; GO SWIMMING; GO ADVENTURING; RUSH RUSH GYM.
See the problem? It’s never easy to loose weight, its seriously difficult. Adding a change of environment into a stressful place where my weight always reaches it’s highest is worse.
So today I weighed myself….137! :D I know it’s not much but I think I can finally inch back down again…hopefully I can keep it low. If I get back on the scale and fly back into the 140’s I might cry. I think *fingers crossed* I am off the plateau…so let’s see if I can keep it that way.
I’m feeling a salad for lunch today :)
